Volunteers from Nablus in Dundee

Volunteers from Nablus standing with STUC women$"s committee chair Elaine Dougall
Rami and Rafiq welcomed by chair Elaine Dougall at STUC women's conference

Two volunteers from Nablus worked with us between October 2010 and January 2011. Unfortunately the Edinburgh charity that handled the finances for this was declared bankrupt taking with them the required funding.

Wednesday 1st December 2010 - Appeal
There were funding difficulties resulting from the collapse of a major Edinburgh charity. Thanks to the generosity of several supporters - and one in particular - DNTA was able to continue the programme which proved to be very valuable.
More details on our appeal page.

23 October 2010 - Interns arrive!
Rami and Rafiq have arrived from Dundee's twin town of Nablus. They are volunteers who will spend 7 weeks in Dundee helping DNTA to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the Twinning Agreement with the West Bank city.

This has been made possible by a collaboration with Project Hope in Nablus, the Edinburgh University Setttlement and funding from the European Volunteer Scheme.

Schools have already asked Rami and Rafiq to help them with their explorations of life in other countries with a plan to establish video conference links to schools in Nablus.
